Honda India’s Export Triumph: May 2024 Insights

Honda India thrives on exports in May 2024; struggles with domestic sales

Honda India faced contrasting fortunes in May 2024.

While the brand reported overall sales of 11,343 units, including exports, the domestic market posed challenges.

Out of the total sales, more than 6,500 cars were exported, including the locally manufactured Elevate (sold as the WR-V in Japan).

The ongoing heat wave across the country led to weaker showroom footfall, affecting the domestic market.

Honda India remains optimistic about improved conditions in the coming months, but it faces stiff competition from segment-leading models like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Hyundai Creta.

The Amaze compact sedan and the Elevate crossover are key players for Honda India's market share growth.
